HAND THERAPY &
ERGONOMICS CONSULTING

Hand therapy is the art and science of rehabilitation of the upper limb, which includes the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. It is occupational therapy theory and practice that combines comprehensive knowledge of the structure of the upper limb with function and activity. A certified hand therapist provides therapeutic interventions to prevent dysfunction, restore function and/or reverse the progression of pathology of the upper limb in order to enhance an individual’s ability to execute tasks and to participate fully in life situations.

ABOUT DINA

Dina Delopoulos boasts two decades of dedicated experience as an occupational therapist, honing her expertise at esteemed institutions across the United States. Her journey began at renowned hospitals such as New York Presbyterian Cornell, the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York University, and Northwestern Medical Center in Chicago. It was during her impactful tenure at the NYP Burn Unit in 2002 that Dina unearthed her fervor for hand therapy, propelling her to pursue specialization in the rehabilitation of the hand and upper extremity, earning her certification as a hand therapist in 2005.

Collaborating closely with distinguished surgeons in trauma, plastics, and hand orthopedics has been a hallmark of Dina's career. She has spearheaded the establishment of hand clinics at prestigious medical centers such as Northwestern Medical Center, Holy Name Medical Center in NJ, and the Lenox Hill Hand and Wrist Center at Northwell Health, where she currently serves as the Supervisor of Rehabilitation Services. Notably, Dina initiated the New York Hand Therapy Journal Club, facilitating quarterly meetings to foster collaboration among hand therapists in the tristate area.

Beyond her clinical endeavors, Dina champions the significance of preventative care through ergonomic practices. In 2000, she immersed herself in Roy Matheson's Ergonomics program, later acquiring certification as an ergonomic assessment specialist in 2006. Dina's influence extends to the implementation of functional capacity evaluation and ergonomics programs at NYP Cornell, as well as her collaboration with employee health services to conduct thorough workstation evaluations.

In 2014, Dina embarked on her entrepreneurial journey, founding Hand Therapy and Ergonomics LLC. In this capacity, she continues to deliver exemplary hand therapy treatment while providing comprehensive onsite work assessments across New York City and the tristate area.
